Substitution is what's really important with choosing healthier options. If there's a grilled chicken sandwich, get it instead of you favorite batter-fried option. If you're sick of side salad, choose mashed potatoes or steamed broccoli instead of fries. There are options out there.
Shrimp - Believe it or not, shrimp is one of the healthiest foods you can eat, and it's packed with protein and nutrients.
Grilled Chicken Breast - Who doesn't like a classic, juicy chicken breast? Add some roasted veggies on the side for a low-calorie, nutrient-filled restaurant meal! Or make it a sandwich with tomatoes and other veggies of choice.
Stir Fry - With white rice and yummy meat and/or veggies mixed into delectable sauces and seasonings, stir fry is one of the simplest, easy orders for health freaks like us!
Fish (not batter-fried) - How could I forget fish? It's probably my favorite kind of meat, and despite popular belief, fish is extremely healthy! Just leave the batter off, or substitute potato batter instead (the healthier choice). Fish is going to fill you up, especially since it gives the body many nutrients that it needs! Healthiest fish options: flounder, tuna, salmon, and rainbow trout.
Lean Steak - Wow! I didn't know this until yesterday, but steak can be a fairly healthy option if you prepare it correctly. Add fresh veggies to your plate and you've got yourself a damn good choice.
Salad? After months of salad? Double meh.
Substitution is key. Remember that you have options at restaurants, and if you really feel hopeless ordering from a menu, hit the grocery store instead and make your own recipes. Pinterest has tons of healthy and easy recipe options!
